Today a number of 4th class and 5th class pupils walked to Wexford library for science week. It was called the WexSci Science Showcase. Ginny Smith gave the talk for the hour. It was very interesting and the children got to complete various different experiments. It was all based around our brains and our senses. Some of the experiments were completed by everyone and some were completed by individuals who were lucky enough to be picked out. Some of the experiments even included all the children eating Starbursts and Tic Tacs. It was a great trip and everybody enjoyed it and left with a smile on their face. b2ap3_thumbnail_ginny-crowd-1.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_ginny-opticla-illusions.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_ginny-smith.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_ginny.jpg

Before the midterm break all the pupils in 4th class went to the National Heritage Park. Ms. Bradley's class and Mr. Cody's class went together on one guided tour around the park. The pupils went as part of SESE to show them some aspects of the topics they had been learning about in real life. The tour guide was excellent and he tried to answer all the questions as much as he could. Here are some pictures of two of the classes enjoying the trip.

Miss Bradley's 4th class went to the library this week for The Book Festival. On Tuesday morning we left to walk down to Wexford library to meet Alan Nolan. Alan is an author of many children's novels and comic books. Alan came in and we were all pleasantly surprised at how funny he was. He spoke to us about his life growing up and how he was interested in books and writing from a very young age. He told us that he also is the illustrator for his own books. Alan drew us some pictures of images that came into his head. b2ap3_thumbnail_alans-drawing.jpg
