Last weekend was a historic weekend for Jack Connolly in 6th class and his team, Faythe Harriers. They travelled to Tipperary to take part in the annual Féile Hurling under 14 competition. The team stayed with host families over the weekend and played a number of games over the weekend. This exceptional team bitzed their way to the final winning every game. In the final they faced the famed Glen Rovers team from cork. The final took place in the home of hurling, Semple Stadium. The Harriers won the final on a scoreline of 2-3 to 2 points. This is a fantastic achievement for Jack and his team as they are only the 2nd ever Wexford team to win this trophy. Also on the team was past pupil Jason Kelly. Scoil Mhuire is very proud of these boy's. Well done!

On Friday last the Clonard GAA club held a fun day in their pitch for the children of our school. Each class from Junior Infants to 5th went to the pitch and were treated to fun and games by coaches from the club. At the end of each session children were given ice pops as a treat and got to meet members of the club. They also found out information about the upcoming Clonard GAA summer camp. Great fun was had by all. If anybody needs information regarding our local club please contact Mary Kavanagh on 0876300824. Underage training takes place in the field on Tuesday evenings from 6:30
