Last Thursday 7th December, all of the first classes took a trip to the National Opera House for 'A Fairy Good Christmas'. We were so excited as most of us had never been to the Opera House before. When we arrived we went up to the Sky Cafe at the very top of the Opera House where we had a fantastic view. We were up so high we could even see Curracloe Beach!
When we came back down to the ground level we were waiting for the elf to arrive. His name was Snotter and he had a terrible habit of picking his nose! Snotter brought us on a little journey. We went down to the dumping ground where we met King Ratsy, a rat who had stolen magic. It was our job to help Snotter get the magic back. We went through a forest where we met Golden Amber, a fairy who was always falling asleep! Some of the boys and girls got to help Snotter and Golden Amber decorate their Christmas tree. She joined us on the rest of our journey to get the magic back. We arrived in an enchanted land, where there was a small cottage. It was Snotter's house but he hadn't been there for a whole year because he was in the North Pole with Santa. When we arrived at the cottage, guess who was in Snotter's house?.. Yes, it was King Ratsy!! We did our best to convince King Ratsy to give us the magic back, but he was very stubborn and would not agree. Of course Golden Amber had fallen asleep again so she was no help to us at all!! Eventually, Snotter made a deal with King Ratsy.. he said that King Ratsy could live in his house all year while he was in the North Pole, but only if he gave us back the magic. Finally, King Ratsy agreed and we were all very happy. It began to snow and we all sang some Christmas songs to celebrate getting the magic back.
Ms. Sutherland, Ms. Hayden, Ms. Lambert/Ms. Vaughan, Ms. Cranny and all the children in 1st class would like to say a huge thank you to the National Opera House for such an enjoyable experience. We had the most wonderful time.
Here are some photos from our trip.
