2nd Classes enjoyed a fantastic trip on Wednesday 21st June. We travelled to Wells House and Gardens by bus. On arrival, we broke into 3 groups . We enjoyed archery, falconry and a house tour.
Glen and Sharon showed us how to hold the archery bow properly and shoot at the targets. When we had perfected this we went into the forest and shot at different targets.
Next, we met Robin, the falconer. He gave us a talk on birds of prey. We were introduced to two magnificent falcons. We held the birds on our arms using a special falconry glove. We fed the birds raw chicken.
After a short break we got to meet Mrs. Pierce, the housekeeper. She brought us back in time to the 1800's. We were told about the family who lived in the house and showed around the amazing rooms.
Following this, we basked in the sun and ate our lunches on the picnic tables. We cooled down with a refreshing ice-cream and after a quick play in the playground we returned on the bus back to school.
It was a wonderful trip, enjoyed by all.
