Class 2B had the honour of entertaining Ms.Jordan, their families and the children and staff from the Junior classes at their assembly on Friday 20th October.
Despite losing two days of practice because of Hurricane Ophelia, the children were well prepared to put on a great show. They welcomed everyone to their assembly and started with a prayer for everybody in school.
This was followed by their maths song about Doubles reminding everyone that "I can add double, Huh!" Some children definitely have a future career as a rapper!!! They then performed the 'Haka Gaeilach' with some faces that even the New Zealand team would find scary.
The children also recited the poem 'Good morning Dear Students' by Ken Nesbitt, who writes a lot of poetry for children.
They had spent time researching their family trees and took great pride in showing people their work and exploring facts they discovered about tress from around the world and how trees can help the water cycle which were also learning about.
The children were delighted to be able to help Ms.Jordan to give out the certificates to those who were great friends in the different classes, and to wish happy birthday to those celebrating a birthday in the net two weeks.
We were also able to show people our national treasure including some old money, a milk churn, a food mixer, some St.Patrick's Day Badges, a newspaper about the 1916 Rising and a book about Wexford.
The children ended the assembly with a beautiful version of 'Circle Of Friends'.
Everybody there was really delighted with our assembly and how well we had worked to prepare for it. Teacher said she was very, very proud of us as well and we had a party in the afternoon to celebrate a successful assembly.
Thanks again to everybody who helped us to prepare for our assembly, and those who were able to join us on the morning.
