Following a trojan effort by a team of staff, parents and friends of Scoil Mhuire (not all in the photo!), great progress has been made in the past 24 hours in clearing much of the snow. We will be re-opening tomorrow for all pupils. To ensure everyone's safe return to school, please note the following:
As many of our families know, water is beginning to be restored in Wexford town. However, due to our location water will be restored in Scoil Mhuire later than lower lying areas in the town. We are hopeful that it will return tonight or tomorrow morning. We need water at school for drinking, hand washing, toilets etc. While we have some water in reserve, it will have to be managed carefully tomorrow. If Irish Water is unable to resume service tomorrow, we unfortunately will have to consider closing again on Wednesday as Scoil Mhuire cannot function without toilet facilities.
Please take a little extra time to get to school tomorrow and take it gently on the footpaths and walkways. If you have any concerns about you and your child getting to school safely, please do not take any unnecessary risks, particularly if you have a distance to travel or your area is still under a lot of snow.
A big thank you to our families for your understanding and co-operation and we hope that all will go well tomorrow.Last modified on
