Miss Bradley's 4th class went to the library this week for The Book Festival. On Tuesday morning we left to walk down to Wexford library to meet Alan Nolan. Alan is an author of many children's novels and comic books. Alan came in and we were all pleasantly surprised at how funny he was. He spoke to us about his life growing up and how he was interested in books and writing from a very young age. He told us that he also is the illustrator for his own books. Alan drew us some pictures of images that came into his head. b2ap3_thumbnail_alans-drawing.jpg

He explained where he had gotten some of the ideas for his books. He said two of his favourite books were 'Death by Chocolate' and 'Sam Hannigans Woof Week'. Alan had us drawing our own images of a brain swap. In 'Sam Hannigans Woof Week' the main character brain swaps with a dog. We had to imagine an animal that we would like to brain swap with and draw an image of what we thought it would look like. Alan was very busy giving us all his autograph when he finished his talk. We had a highly enjoyable time in the library with Alan Nolan. b2ap3_thumbnail_Alan-talking_20181003-143012_1.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_children-listening.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_class-happy-with-alan.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_thumbs-up.jpg
