Paula Currid has been elected as Mother Nominee to the Board of Management. Following a meeting of parents, 5 mothers kindly went forward for election. 340 parent votes were cast over the voting period. It was a close result and the Board of Management would like to thank all parents for voting. Paula joins Shane Canning who was previously elected as Father Nominee.

Congratulations to Shane Canning who was nominated and elected as Father Nominee to the Board of Management. Five Mother Nominees were nominated: Karen Delaney, Patricia Delaney (nee Mennis), Catherine Cleary, Lisa McAuley and Paula Currid. Ballot papers for Mother Nominee were sent home on Wedneday and many thanks for all the papers returned so far.

Scoil Mhuire is delighted to announce that Mags Jordan has been appointed as new Principal in Scoil Mhuire. Mags previously worked as a teacher in Scoil Mhuire from 1986 to 1997. In fact there are many parents now here that Mags will have taught.  Mags worked with the Wexford Area Partnership and School Development Planning while completing her Doctorate, before joining the School Inspectorate in the Department of Education. Mags is currently a Senior Divisional Inspector with the Department of Education.  She will take up her role as Principal on September 1st.

Dear Parents,  Just a few minutes ago I informed the Board of Management and the staff that I will be retiring from Scoil Mhuire this summer. This year is my 32nd year in Scoil Mhuire, 14 years as Deputy Principal and 18 years as Principal. I started my teaching career in the CBS in Enniscorthy, before moving to Kennedy Park NS but it has been a real privilege to work in Scoil Mhuire. I will be very sad leaving this summer, yet proud of what we have achieved in Scoil Mhuire working together in partnership. Yes we have a fine school building, but it is only as good as the people in it. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated, talented and hardworking staff that is always prepared to go the extra mile.
