As most Parents and Guardians already know, a new Scoil Mhuire uniform will be introduced in September. The new uniform will be a navy tracksuit bottom, a light blue polo shirt and a Scoil Mhuire half zip. As you can see in the photos, there will be two types of half zip. The navy, blue and white half zip will be for children from Junior Infants to 4th Class. The navy and blue half zip with the Wexford colours of purple and gold will be for 5th and 6th Class only. The half zips, which are made by C-Sports, cost €28 and €34 (larger sizes). They will be available to buy from August onwards in Hores Stores, Wexford. Hores Stores operates a Uniform Savings Scheme for any Parents and Guardians who would like to set aside some money towards uniform costs between now and August. The Board of Management is aware that some existing school uniforms are in very good condition and children will be allowed to wear the ‘old’ or ‘new’ uniform during 2017/18.

On Tuesday, we held a very special ‘surprise’ assembly to mark Monsignor Lennon’s Golden Jubilee. We sang our favourite assembly songs for him. Our 6th class band and our recorder consort performed brilliantly. You could hear a pin drop in the hall when Ms Cathy Lambert sang Amazing Grace. Monsignor Lennon talked to us about his life as a Priest over the past 50 years. We loved when he sang Grandma’s Feather Bed and we all clapped and sang along. We presented him with a special card and gift to mark his Golden Jubilee. At the end of assembly, we were delighted when the 6th Class girls and boys sang Gaston from this year’s School Show, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. They were fabulous and we can’t wait to see the full show. It was a super assembly and we wish Monsignor Lennon every good wish for his special Golden Jubilee Mass on Sunday.

Santa is very busy putting the final touches to his sleigh. Rudolph and the reindeer are ready for the off. There's only one more sleep to go until Santa comes...so it's early to bed tonight! Happy Christmas to all our children and families from everyone in Scoil Mhuire.
