Dear Parents & Guardians, it's been a very busy day here in Scoil Mhuire and we're delighted to confirm that we will re-open for pupils tomorrow morning. Our team of builders has been working hard from first light making the storm damaged areas of the roof safe. It will be a number of weeks before the repairs are completed fully so we'll be looking a little less than our best for a while. Our annual Pumpkin Sale in aid of our Rainbow Unit and our annual Book Fair will launch tomorrow...so it's an exciting three days ahead. We look forward to welcoming all the children back tomorrow and thank you again for your support over the past few days.

As many Parents, Guardians & members of our local community will know at this stage, Scoil Mhuire suffered some roof damage today as a result of the very high winds brought by Storm Ophelia. Our school plan, when events like this occur, has been put in place. We have a building team on standby and they will begin work on the roof as soon as the winds die down. They will make the roof safe in preparation for more significant repairs. Fortunately, no one was injured today and that is the most important thing. If possible, we will re-open for pupils on Wednesday. We will ensure to keep our Parents & Guardians up to date via text & our school website as soon as we have definitive news. We ask that you be patient with us as it may be later tomorrow before we can confirm that we will re-open on Wednesday. We hope that you and your families are safe and well and we thank you for all the kind messages of support that we received today.

Eileen, the SNA in our room is kind of famous. Her niece, Shannon works for Easy Food magazine and last month she had a recipe in the magazine called 'Aunty Eileen's Biscuits'. So we decided in Rainbow Green that we would follow the recipe to make the biscuits.

Well done to everyone for making a huge effort to be in school everyday during attendance week. Various certificates for full or improved attendance from last year have now been awarded. Scoil Mhuire's first 'Attendance Raffle' was held at Monday's assemblies and pictured are our three lucky winners.
