Practicing Leave No Trace

Scoil Mhuire has been embracing the 'Leave No Trace' ethic over the last week.  Mikolaj and Callum from Mr.Gregan's class did a great job of introducing the main principle of 'Leave No Trace' at the school's Monday assemblies.  It simply means leave no trace of your visit.

Last Friday one of the seven principles of 'Leave No Trace' was put into action in the Woodland Garden by Sam, Josh and Mr. Butler.  They were so excitedb2ap3_thumbnail_Sam-pumplin-patch_20151001-214451_1.jpg to find a friendly local amphibian while tending to the pumpkins in the school's pumpkin patch.

Josh, Sam and Mr. Butler remembered the third principle of Scoil Mhuire's 'Leave No Trace' message.  The third principle highlights the importance of the need to 'Stay a Safe Distance' from birds and any wild animals in our school gardens so as not to disturb them.  Lets hope our friendly neighbour the frog doesn't eat all the pumpkins before we have a chance to make some pumpkin soup :)

I wonder did the frog that was found in the pumpkin patch make its journey from the school pond?  Do you think its possible that it started off as frogspawn from our pond?
