In Scoil Mhuire, we operate a Book Rental Scheme for the books and materials your child needs for the school year ahead. The Scheme is very popular among our Parents & Guardians as it allows them to manage the costs involved in their child returning to school. The cost to families of the Book Rental Scheme is also very substantially below what Parents & Guardians would pay if they were purchasing the books and materials themselves.
The Board of Management reviews the cost of the Book Rental Scheme on a regular basis and decides the annual cost per child. At present, the cost of the Book Rental Scheme is €70 per child. This payment includes your child’s books, copies, homework journal, scrapbooks, art materials and photocopying.
Your family may qualify for the Reduced Book Rental Rate of €60 or €50 per child. The Reduced Book Rental Rate of €60 per child is available to families with three children in Scoil Mhuire.
The Reduced Book Rental Rate of €50 per child is available to a family in receipt of one or more of the following:
Medical Card (excluding under 6s GP Visit Card);
Family dependent totally on Social Welfare payments;
Single parent family with no financial support other than One Parent Family Payment;
Family in receipt of Family Income Supplement.
The Reduced Book Rental Rate of €50 per child is also available to families with four or more children in Scoil Mhuire. If you feel your family may be eligible for a Reduced Book Rental Payment, you will be asked to complete a short form to confirm your eligibility. Any information that you provide to Scoil Mhuire will be dealt with confidentially and in line with our published Data Protection Policy. The most convenient way for you to pay your child’s Book Rental Fee is via our Aladdin Connect App, either the full amount or in instalments (minimum €10 payment per transaction). The App is fully secure and you will not incur any additional charges. If you prefer, you can pay via cash or via a withdrawal from your child’s Wexford Credit Union Savings Account.
The support and co-operation of our families in making our Book Rental Scheme both affordable and successful is very much appreciated. If a Parent or Guardian prefers, they can opt out of the Book Rental Scheme and purchase the books and materials their child needs either online or from a local supplier. Details of the books and materials required for each class grade are available in the Book Lists document attached.
If you would like to discuss the payment of Book Rental, you are welcome to contact our HSCL Co-ordinator at (085) 866 8381.
