In April 2026, Scoil Mhuire was delighted to welcome three visiting teachers, Maite, Nuria, and Oscar, from Gran Canaria, Spain as part of the Erasmus+ programme. During their four-day visit, they experienced a wide range of teaching and learning across the school. Our 6th Class pupil Maia delivered a tour for them in Spanish when they first arrived. They visited classes across all age levels, observed a variety of lessons, and engaged with many activities and staff members throughout their visit.

To mark their visit, we organised a number of social and cultural events. These included a walk in the Raven and an opportunity to enjoy food and drinks with members of the Erasmus committee, with all staff warmly invited to attend. Our guests also enjoyed exploring Wexford town and its surrounding areas.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for professional exchange, allowing both our staff and our visitors to share ideas, methodologies, and cultural perspectives as well as providing them an opportunity to immerse themselves in the English language. We greatly enjoyed hosting Maite, Nuria, and Oscar, and we look forward to continuing to build strong connections through Erasmus+ in the future.

The above trip was fully funded by the European Union Erasmus+ programme.
